About Us

We are a small brokerage with our headquarters based in Kingswood providing bespoke insurance solutions for clients mainly based in Bristol and the surrounding area. Most of our business is derived from personal introductions and recommendations which speaks volumes.

Ashley Rodwell was formed in 1983 by Jeff Ashley and Peter Rodwell who had previously worked for a national broker and decided that the time was right to set up their own business based in Kingswood, Bristol.

Sev Singh-Digpal joined as senior account manager from one of the world’s largest insurance organisations in 2000 and has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company which has been reflected in the new business generated and retention of existing commercial clients’ business. His reputation and standing within the local insurance market is second to none.

Sev now owns the business and is taking it from strength to strength whilst retaining the underlying values Ashely Rodwell clients have come to expect over their years of trading.

Most of the insurance transacted in the early years related to car and household policies where the business was able to offer a highly personalised service to the local community. As time went on, the partners recognised the need for smaller local businesses to have close to hand a broker who could offer the kind of hands-on service their personal clients valued.

We now provide bespoke insurance solutions for clients mainly based in Bristol and the surrounding areas. Our esteemed staff are based at either our Headquarters in Bristol or our Worcester Branch. We do not advertise and all our business is derived from personal introduction and recommendation which screams volumes about the level of service our clients receive. 


We make no apologies for offering an old fashioned personal service whilst implementing the best features of the modern technology available to us. We concentrate all our efforts in building strong, lasting relationships with local businesses.  Our clients are able to talk to their account handlers all the way through the policy year, not just at inception or renewal.  The account handler will advise on covers available and the effect that any changes in the client’s business may have on their policy.


The emphasis always has and will be on personal interaction with both our clients and insurers so that our account handlers can properly understand the business and put forward comprehensive propositions for the covers required. We remain always conscious of the need to maintain premiums at the most competitive levels without sacrificing quality of the cover provided.      

We have a proactive claims service to ensure that the adverse effects of an insured loss are kept to an absolute minimum with as little disruption to the business as possible.         

Collectively we have over 100 years’ worth of experience and expertise in our target markets and we know from our own figures that our renewal retention bears witness to the fact that we maintain the quality of advice and service not just at point of sale, but throughout the whole period of insurance.
